At Samish - Doug and Fellette here. Up at 4:45 to catch up on computer work. Posted to 270 and The Point blogs. Doug and Fellette left for the point at around 8:45, I arrived at around 9:00. Soon after Tony arrived to work on the roof of the old house. Cathy, the painter, arrived around 10:00. Culligan Water arrived soon after to check out the water system. Seems to be working OK but the supply line is broken, floating halfway up. One pressure tank is not working to full capacity. The system is old - chlorine pump, instead of the newer ultraviolet light to kill bacteria. Set up or tried to set up appointments with the plumber, electrician, and Walls and Windows for Blinds. Window guy was supposed to arrive at 11:00 to look at replacement of all the windows with broken seals - probably about 10 and 1 sliding door. Cancelled, personal injuries etc. Maybe Monday. All of this was more difficult since none of the phones were holding a charge. Meanwhile Doug and Fellette were staining and refurbishing new and old baseboards. Cathy thought she may run out of primer as well. I made a list - Batteries for the phone - Everything Batteries - Iowa Street,
Walls and Windows for blinds, Home Depot for medite underlayment and pay for the carpet, Benjamin Moore for Paint. Left around 11:00. To Everything Batteries who only had 4 batteries so I bought all of them. Next to Walls and Windows on Hannegan Road. Ordered top down bottom up blinds for all the rooms that could be bedrooms 3 downstairs and 2 upstairs. Then out Hannegan to the Guide Meridian and down towards Home Depot. Hannegan is so far North East that it entered the Guide just above Simons, so I decided to stop in to see if he was here. He was - sanding the slab. Chatted, took some pictures then headed to the home depot.
At Home Depot picked up medite, turned out to be the wrong thickness, and water. While they were ripping the medite, I worked with Lori in flooring. Forgot the sample board in the car. Paid for the medite etc, and loaded it in the car. Returned to flooring with the board and changed the type and size of carpet then headed to Benjamin Moore. Got the primer, turned out to be white instead of grey and the white base paint for the cabinets. Headed back to the point, stopped to get a deli sandwich at Arco - Turkey on a Kaiser bun - 500 calories - yikes!!! By the time I got back to the Point it was 2:00. Doug and Fellette had finished the baseboards and they look wonderful. They then installed the underlayment, made all the more difficult because I got the wrong thickness. Cathy could not continue painting because I had the wrong primer. I then got word the electrician could not come until January and the plumber not until next Monday. I wanted some advice on the lighting and had talked to Village Lighting on the weekend. Ann from Village lighting arrived around 3:45. She was able to get a hold of an electrician that could fix the outlets sooner, rather than later. Doug and Fellette put all their tools in the closet under the stairs and left around 5:45 and I tidied up. Doug left me his truck, which is wonderful since I have to move from the Daytons tomorrow and want to take some things from the garage so Swans can bring the stuff from the storage locker and put it there for now. I left around 6:15 and stopped at the Daytons and loaded some things into the truck to take to the point in the morning. Tomatoes and leftover baked potato for dinner then bed early.
